Urge Congressman Chris Murphy to vote "NO" on war supplemental

Today, My Left Nutmeg is joining forces with Firedoglake, Robert Greenwald, and a host of bloggers across the country who are calling on member of Congress to oppose the latest war supplimental bill.

Back in 2007, Congressman Chris Murphy signed a pledge not to vote for any war funding that didn't include troop withdrawl provisions.

This Tuesday, the Hosue is scheduled to vote on H.R. 2346, the 2009 Supplemental Appropriations Act, which includes funding for the war in Afghanistan without any provisions for troop withdrawl.

Continued funding of the war without provisions of a troop withdrawl will only result in contuned occupation.

Fifteen members have already said they will not vote for the supplemental, and 11 are leaning "no." It only takes 39 Democrats to stop the bill from passing and Rahm Emanuel is threatening Democratic freshmen if they don't vote for the it.  

If you supported Congressman Murphy's campaign, please contact him and ask him to honor his 2007 pledge and oppose further funding of the war that doesn't include a plan to remove US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
